Service: Why it is important as a life experience?

Community service is one of the most humbling things one can do in their life. Performing selfless acts of mercy for a people less fortunate than you is truly rewarding. Furthermore, it makes the people that are less fortunate feel respected and dignified. It is good for our own human dignity because it gives us the feeling that we are trusted enough to do this work for others. It enhances one's character and personal experiences when doing this community service. The exposure to such work is an unforgettable action.

The real benefit of performing community service is for the dignity of others. Making someone feel as if they matter is an invaluable gift. And in turn, maybe that person will begin to treat others with more dignity too. It is a huge chain reaction, and it all starts with one person: you. If you begin to treat others with more dignity, they will, hopefully, do the same. And ultimately, the world could potentially be a much better place, where people are respected for who they are, not what they have done.
