Sage Hill School Stories: Service Learning

I thought this video was perfect in describing something that we could even implement at St. Joe. This high school basically set aside a Wednesday every month where they would go out and perform some act of community service. This fits in perfectly with my argument about spreading the dignity towards others. Setting aside one day here a whole school goes out and performs an act of service makes a paramount difference in the world. I believe that what this school is doing could be a potential starting point for achieving dignity for everyone.

Mount Saint Joe already has a quite expansive community service program, but if Catholic schools around the country began to do this it could make a huge difference. The amount of dignity and respect we could spread could be quite expansive and have a significant effect. Sage Hill has done this in a variety of ways already such as educating young children. And I believe if schools do this on a wider and even more productive scale, it has the potential to change the world.
